The business first existed as L L Mitchells and was established around 1879 as a Wheelwright. Over the years the offerings of the business progressed to general carpentry, building works and then even work as undertakers. Around 1964 the descendant of L L Mitchell, Mr L Mitchell partnered up with Mr R Rollins to become Mitchell and Rollins, this partnership allowed the business to grow in both size and character. Mitchell & Rollins undertook bigger projects, expanded into plumbing works as well as the existing areas and through increased publicity was even invited to do restoration work at Sandringham house for the Queen. The most recent progression for Mitchell and Rollins was our limited company incorporation status on 13-March-2002. From here onwards we have focused on increasing our range of services, training staff to make sure they can offer the most up to date technologies in the trade, such as Air Source Heat Pumps and more resilient materials such as Accoya etc.

Over the years we have invested heavily in apprenticeship schemes for new starters and continue to do so today. We know that for any business to continue to grow and ensure that it’s skills are passed on and even built on through fresh outlooks, it is vital for new labour to be brought in to the fold and trained up through a mixture of on site experience and a strong education background. Apprenticeships have allowed us a great opportunity to achieve this growth of staff and skills. If you feel that you would like to know more, or have already looked in to such a program and would like to enquire about placements please feel free to contact us and we’d be happy to talk to you.
